Como había prometido, aquí tenéis algunos añadidos al experimento que se realizó en clase sobre reacciones químicas.
Experiment 1: What does react with bicarbonate?
Elements:
-Sodium bicarbonate.
-Vinegar
-Water
-Lemon juice
Procedure:
Mix the bicarbonate with the water, the vinegar and the lemon juice separately. Write down which ones react.
Think:
Do they have anything in common?
Experiment 2: Is the reaction faster at higher temperature?
Elements:
-Sodium bicarbonate.
-Vinegar.
-Microwave.
-Thermometre
-Stopwatch
Procedure:
Put vinegar into two glasses. Take the temperature of the first glass (room temperature), and write it down. Add a teaspoon of bicarbonate and meassure the time it takes to finish the reaction (no more bubbles). Warm up the second glass and repeat the procedure (take the temperature and meassure the time it takes to react with the stopwatch).
Think:
Does it take take less time when it is hot?
Quien quiera probar nuevos experimentos sobre de qué dependen las reacciones tendrá que venir a los sábados de ciencia.
The purpose of this blog is to host a compilation of different texts and activities which can be used for an EFL class, as well as general resources. During the following weeks I'll post regularly different resources learnt at uni as well as other things I’ve seen as a student or within less formal environments, and hopefully I’ll do it both in Spanish and in English. In addition there will be useful links to other blogs and compilations.
